Mr. Seth Osei-Akoto donates Mathematical sets to BECE candidates

Mr. Seth Osei-Akoto (Nana Owusu Sekyere), an illustrious son of the late Baffour Akoto, a stalwart in Ghanaian politics who is now the parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Atwima Mponua Constituency has presented mathematical sets to all final year students who are preparing for their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The set, totaling two thousand, nine hundred and thirty (2,930) was presented to the educational directorate for onward distribution to the candidates.

Mr. Seth Osei-Akoto noted that education is the weapon that can propel and trigger the development of Atwima Mponua; as such he will support two hundred (200) students who will excel in the exams to further their education.

He noted that, the District is facing the problem of teacher exodus and to curtail it, he is liaising with the District Assembly and the Education Directorate to institute award for teachers in the fourteen (14) circuits in the District to serve as incentive to them to stay longer.

The Parliamentary candidate advised parents and the candidates to take their education serious and support the New Patriotic Party which has the education of Ghanaians at heart; hence the introduction of the Free Senior High School (FSHS).

Isaac Kofi Marfo, the District Chief Executive (DCE) who accompanied Mr. Seth Osei-Akoto said, the NPP government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made quality education accessible to Ghanaians. He commended Mr. Seth Osei-Akoto for the unprecedented gesture that seeks to arm the candidates with superb preparatory skills before they write their exams.

Mr. George Ekow Annan, the Human Resource Manager (HRM), of the Education Directorate who received the Mathematical Sets on behalf of the District Director of Education commended Mr. Seth Osei-Akoto for the countless supports he has given to the directorate spanning from building an ultra- modern school complex, ICT center, provision of building materials, computers and other learning materials all of which helped to propel education in the area.

The candidates and parents present thanked Mr. Seth Osei-Akoto for the kind gesture and said the donation was enough motivation for them to work hard and come out with flying colours.
