The project, led by Beast Philanthropy in partnership with the West Akyem Cooperative Union, The Rockefeller Foundation, Fairtrade Africa and CARE International, seeks to improve education, livelihoods and the general well-being of residents.

The interventions include the renovation of the Kindergarten block, construction of a new Primary to Junior High School block and provision of a fully furnished 10-unit teachers’ bungalow.

Other facilities provided include a community market, experimental farming hub, recreational facilities, school feeding programme, mechanised boreholes, toilet facilities and a community centre equipped with a library, sick bay and meeting room.

The project also includes the renovation of the community sports park, full electrification and the installation of solar energy facilities to support sustainable development within the community.

Speaking during the commissioning of the Owuram Village Project, the Municipal Education Director, Mrs. Loretta Akuah Ayisi, joined representatives of the Eastern Regional Catholic Education Unit, traditional authorities and other stakeholders to witness the occasion.

The project is expected to create a more supportive environment for teaching and learning while improving access to essential services and creating sustainable opportunities for residents, particularly children and young people.

Stakeholders commended the development partners, traditional authorities, education authorities and other organisations whose collaboration contributed to the successful implementation of the project.

The Owuram Village Project is being described as a demonstration of how strategic partnerships can help address critical development needs and promote sustainable community development.
