Nkoranza South MCE Hands Over 760 Desks to Boost Local Schools

Nkoranza, Ghana – The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkoranza South, Hon. Godfred Dapaa, has officially handed over 760 students' desks to the Municipal Directorate of Education for distribution to public schools across the municipality.

The handover ceremony took place on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the forecourt of the municipal assembly. The consignment includes 400 dual desks and 360 mono desks (tables and chairs), which were received by the Municipal Director of Education, Madam Theresa Kpebu.

Commitment to quality education

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Dapaa emphasized that this investment reflects the assembly's unwavering commitment to eliminating the furniture deficit in the area. He noted that the new desks would create a more comfortable teaching and learning environment for both educators and students.

The MCE urged Madam Kpebu to ensure the furniture is distributed fairly and promptly to the most underserved schools. He also called on the director to encourage teachers and pupils to take proper care of the items, stating: "We must protect this investment so that the next generation can also meet and benefit from it."

Assurance from Education Directorate

In her response, Madam Theresa Kpebu expressed gratitude to the MCE and the assembly for the timely intervention. She assured him that her office would prioritize the maintenance of the furniture and reiterated her promise that future generations would indeed inherit and benefit from the durable items.

A total of 26 schools in the municipality will receive the furniture. Notable beneficiaries include:
