The gesture, which is aimed at motivating the trainees and supporting them during their stay in the rural communities, included food rations, cartons of bottled water and sanitary pads.

Mr Abizi Morkeh, a youth activist and former Assembly Member for Atuabo, presented the items to the trainees on behalf of the MP at a short ceremony at Atuabo.

The teacher trainees were posted to the Ellembelle District following a request by Awulae Blay IX, Paramount Chief of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area, to help address staffing gaps in schools within the area.

Mr Armah-Kofi Buah, who is also the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, said the initiative was intended to support schools in underserved communities and provide the trainees with an opportunity to contribute to quality teaching and learning.

He pledged his continued support for quality education in the Ellembelle District and urged the trainees to give off their best during their teaching practice.

Mr Armah-Kofi Buah said the government was aware of the challenges confronting teachers and would continue to explore measures to motivate and support them in the discharge of their duties.
