The Chief Justice made the appeal in a brief interaction with management of the Assembly and the judiciary service staff as part of her Western Regional Tour.
She said there was urgent need to expedite action on the construction of the new building and the Assembly should have its plans ready by the end of March this year to execute the project.
She said the current building does not meet the required standards of the Judicial Service but the Assembly could undertake essential renovation on it for continues adjudication of cases while the new structure was constructed.
Her ladyship Sophia Akuffo also enquired about other basic challenges facing the Judicial Service Staff of the Magistrate Court which included a descent accommodation for the magistrate, the staff strength of the court and water supply to them.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Helena Appiah in her response to the appeal and the concerns of the chief justice assured her that a four acre land was available for the construction of the new court building and renovation work would soon start on the old building.
She also assured her of the Assembly’s commitment to fix the water problem of the court to ensure regular water supply.
