Kintampo South: Regional Minister assures Chiefs of more developmental projects soon

The Bono East Regional Minister Francis Owusu Antwi paid a working visit to the Chiefs and Queen Mother of the Jema Traditional Council as part of his thank you tour of the region.

The Regional Minister and his entourage first went to the Jema Chief’s Palace, where they met the chief and his elders. Nana Amponsah Gyan II and elders expressed their gratitude for the honor done them. Nana used the opportunity to inform the Regional Minister about the numerous developmental problems they are facing in the district.

His first concern was the Jema Water System; Jema Town Roads, Social Center for the district, setting up of a university in the district, Nana also reminded the Minster of the E-Block that is left to rot at Anyima, he also requested for a Teacher Training Collage in the district since the only Training College in the region is at Atebubu.

Mr. Francis Owusu Antwi also paid a courtesy call on the Queen Mother of Jema, Nanahemaa Abena kyedomhemaa. The Regional Minister was again welcome by Nanahemaa and her people, where they also took the opportunity and laid their problems before him. Nanahemaa also talked of the bad roads in the district, expansion of Jema main market, the need to get them a training collage in the district, she also urged the Regional Minister to try and get them a Fire Tender since the officers at post were without fire tender which is affecting their delivery in the district.

At the two palaces the Regional Minister thanked the chiefs and his people for giving the president the mandate to rule the country for the next four years, he also asked the chiefs to continue praying for the president and the country at large.

Hon. Francis Antwi Owusu assured the Jemahene and the Queen mother that the Jema Town Roads, Apaaso Town Roads, Jema Ampoma Roads, Jema Agyina  Roads are all part of the President Big Push programme. He also mentioned that the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) would be used for a lot of developmental projects in the district.  He mention that in the DACF guideline there is a ringfence of some percentage that will be used to build a Kindergarten block for the people of Bosomkrom, primary school block at Ayorya, JHS block at Anokyekrom, the assembly will also use the common fund to build two CHIPs Compound with two nursing quarters for Hyireso  and Attakrom.

The Regional Minister also said with the President resetting agenda, Jema town will also benefit from the Twenty-Four Hour (24) Market, they will also drill five (5) mechanized boreholes in the district.

Hon. Francis Antwi requested that Nana and his elders should get a different land for the construction of the social center since the evacuated refused dump site proposed will require a lot of work to be done on it, and in that case not fit for purpose for now.

He also asked the chiefs to get the land ready for the construction of the university, so that when the opportunity is given they will not be any delay. The minister said he, together with the MP Hon. Felicia Adjie for Jema will see to the completion of the E-Block in the district.

The Regional Minister thanked the chief and his elders for welcoming them to his palace and urged them to continue to pray and support the President with his resetting agenda.
