The closure followed three prior warnings issued to the operators, which, according to the Assembly, were ignored. During the inspection, the facility was unable to present valid documentation to demonstrate compliance with building and planning regulations.

Addressing the matter, the Mayor reiterated that all developers and business operators must seek approval from the Assembly before commencing any form of development. He warned that failure to adhere to established building and planning regulations would attract strict enforcement measures.

The action forms part of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly’s ongoing efforts to strengthen regulatory enforcement and ensure compliance with approved development standards across the metropolis.

Officials say the move reflects the Assembly’s commitment to planned urban development, regulatory compliance and collaboration with communities to ensure that all businesses and projects operate in an orderly and lawful manner.
