NDC National Chairman Concludes Bono East “Thank You Tour,” Vows Accountability and Development

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has completed a “Thank You Tour” of constituencies in the Bono East Region. The tour aimed to express gratitude to constituents, chiefs, and party faithful for their role in the party’s electoral performance in the 2024 general elections.

Addressing supporters, Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as “General Mosquito,” reiterated the party’s commitment to accountability. “We shall retrieve every cedi that has been wrongly taken from the people of Ghana. Those who have ‘chopped’ the nation’s money will be held to account,” he stated, emphasizing integrity and honest leadership as pillars of the NDC.

The tour, which included areas such as Atebubu-Amantin, saw significant attendance from local chiefs, party members, and officials. The Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, together with various Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs), welcomed the National Chairman and expressed appreciation for the visit, particularly to the far eastern parts of the region.

During the engagements, Hon. Owusu Antwi outlined key developmental priorities that the NDC government would address. These include critical improvements to the region’s poor road networks, extension of electricity, enhancement of water and security systems, and investment in quality education—including the establishment of tertiary institutions.

“This tour is about honoring our promise to return and thank the people. But it is also a pledge: their vote for change will be met with tangible development and a government that works for them,” Asiedu Nketia affirmed.

The tour underscores the NDC’s post-election outreach and its focus on reinforcing grassroots connections ahead of future governance.
