Ghana Federation of Disability Organisation Commemorates World Disability Day

The Ghana Federation of Disability Organisation, in collaboration with the Adansi North District Assembly, celebrated World Disability Day on December 18, 2025, at Fomena. The event was held under the theme "Fostering a Disability-Inclusive Society and Enhancing Social Development".

Addressing the gathering, District Chief Executive, Hon. Charles Kofi Ogbeh, announced plans to support dependents of physically challenged persons with tertiary education. He reaffirmed the assembly's commitment to promoting inclusivity and addressing the needs of persons with disabilities.

A key highlight was the presentation of the Persons with Disability Act to representatives from the Ghana National Association of the Deaf, Ghana Blind Union, and Ghana Society for Physically Disabled. The act aims to protect the rights of persons with disabilities and promote inclusivity in the district.

Citations of honour were presented to the Hon. District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director, and District Social Welfare and Community Development Officer for their dedication to improving the lives of persons with disabilities.

The event brought together stakeholders, community members, and persons with disabilities to advocate for inclusivity and promote a society where everyone can thrive.
