The District Chief Executive Mr. Hackman Aidoo announced this during the Assembly's latest meeting at Gomoa Afransi. Key measures include motivating revenue staff, providing adequate logistics, and ensuring maximum security to support their duties.
Mr. Aidoo strongly condemned an assault on a female revenue officer by a community member, emphasizing that paying tolls and taxes is constitutionally mandated. He assured revenue officers of 24 hour protection and warned that attackers would face prosecution.
The DCE highlighted ongoing initiatives, including borehole drilling, overhead polytank installations, and piped water extensions to communities like Hill City in Gomoa Asebu. Contracts have been awarded for a 24-hour market and school furniture to stimulate economic activities and education.
The Assembly is also sourcing food items from industrial zones for value addition. On agriculture, Mr. Aidoo noted efforts to bolster local production.
Quality education remains a focus, with the MCE commending Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa Central, Mr. Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus), for distributing items to needy but brilliant students. However, he lamented the 2025 BECE results: only 46.3% of 1,789 public school candidates passed, compared to 67.9% of 212 private school candidates.
The DCE urged the Assembly's management to reshape inner roads for improved goods transportation.
Presiding Member (PM) Mr. Ernest Quarm raised concerns over the MP's projects bypassing Assembly members in electoral areas. He affirmed their readiness to collaborate for district development and urged inclusivity.
