The Congress expressed satisfaction with the Minister's approach to governance, noting that his ability to bring together traditional authorities, government institutions, and other stakeholders around a shared development agenda was contributing to the progress of the Volta Region.

The commendation was made during a courtesy call on the Minister at the Residency by a delegation of the Congress led by its President, Togbega Atsridom V, Paramount Chief of the Kpedze Traditional Area.

The delegation congratulated Mr. Gunu on his appointment and praised his commitment to the socio-economic development of the region, describing his leadership as exemplary and worthy of support.

According to the Congress, the Minister's inclusive style of governance is essential to accelerating development and addressing the socio-economic challenges facing communities across the Volta Region. It therefore called on residents and stakeholders to support his efforts toward achieving sustainable growth and improving livelihoods.

During the meeting, the chiefs and queens raised a number of development concerns affecting their traditional areas, particularly the poor state of some road networks. They appealed for urgent government intervention to rehabilitate the roads, noting that their deteriorating condition posed safety risks and hindered economic activities.

The discussions also focused on strengthening collaboration between traditional authorities and government institutions to promote sustainable economic and social development throughout the region.

The delegation further presented a formal request for the partitioning of the Ho West District, arguing that its current geographical size places considerable pressure on administrative resources and slows the delivery of development projects and public services.

Responding to the delegation, Mr. Gunu expressed appreciation for the visit and thanked the Congress for its confidence in his leadership.

He commended the traditional authorities for their willingness to partner with government in advancing the development of the Volta Region and reaffirmed the commitment of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to working closely with chiefs and queens to promote sustainable development and improve the quality of life of residents across the region.
