The 100-bed capacity hospital with departments including Outpatients Department (OPD), laboratories, waiting rooms, theater, surgical, male, female and maternity wards among others is currently at the roofing stage.
Contractors were busily working on site and work was seriously ongoing when our reporters visited the site last Friday.
At the time of our visit, contractors on site said, all things being equal, the hospital will be handed over for use by December this year.
However, speaking in an exclusive interview, District Chief Executive of the area, Joseph Aidoo, said the move arose from the NPP-government’s determination to improve access to healthcare facilities, especially in remote areas of the country.
He said the contractor has done about 75 per cent of work on the project and was hopeful that by the end of the year, the facility would be completed and commissioned for use.
A visit by Ghanadistricts.com to the project site revealed that roofing, plastering, and some plumbing work were ongoing.
He expressed appreciation to President Akufo-Addo for the facility and appealed to the contractors to work assiduously in order not to skip the deadline.
