President Mahama makes key National Security appointments.

President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday made some key National Security appointments to reflect his commitment to enhancing national security and ensuring the safety of citizens.

A statement issued by Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, announced that Mr Prosper Douglas Bani, a former Chief of Staff had been appointed National Security Advisor to the President.  

It said Mr Bani, a former Minister for the Interior, brings a wealth of experience and expertise.  

The statement noted that Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Abdul-Osman Razak would serve as the National Security Coordinator, ensuring a cohesive strategy across all security initiatives.  

 It said Commissioner of Police (COP) Nathan Kofi Boakye (Rtd) had been appointed Director of Operations at the Presidency to oversee operational effectiveness in security matters.  

The statement said Mr Charles Kipo had been named Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau.
