Atebubu-Amanti NDC elects Sanja Nanja as it gives John Mahama a 96.2% endorsement

The Atebubu-Amantin constituency of the opposition National Democratic Congress last Saturday elected Mr. Sanja Nanja the incumbent Member of Parliament as its Parliamentary candidate for the constituency for 2024 general elections during its constituency primaries at which it also gave ex-President John Dramani Mahama a 96.2% endorsement as flagbearer for the upcoming elections.

Mr. Sanja Nanja polled 991 votes amounting to 65.4% of the total valid votes cast to beat his sole competitor Atindogo Tahiru a teacher who garnered 524 votes with 8 ballots rejected.

The election which was interrupted 3 times by the rains also had former President John Dramani Mahama securing 1438 of the total valid votes cast as against 28 and 29 by Mr. Kojo

Bonsu and Dr. Kwabena Duffuor respectively while 31 ballots were rejected.

The event which started a little after 9.00am ended at about 8.30pm with the declaration of the Parliamentary results by Mr. Kennedy Opoku the municipal boss of the Electoral Commission of Ghana after which the Akokoa venue erupted in wild jubilations by victorious party faithful.
