The visit underscores Hon. Deh's commitment to a key campaign pledge made during the 2024 elections. At a parliamentary debate organized by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), he identified sanitation as a top priority, promising a cleaner constituency if elected.
Since taking office, the MP has collaborated with the Municipal Assembly under the MCE's leadership to launch targeted clean-up exercises across the municipality. Areas such as Sovie, Torkor, the Kpando Taxi Rank, Gabi, and the Police Station enclave have already benefited from these efforts.
The inspection at the Central Market aims to monitor the impact of these interventions and promote sustained cleanliness in the busy commercial hub. This follows a similar clean-up exercise earlier in the week at Torkor, undertaken with the local assembly member.
Municipal authorities state the sanitation drive aims to improve public health, enhance the town's appearance, and foster a lasting culture of cleanliness among residents and traders.
