Speaking at the first ordinary meeting of the Nkoranza South Municipal Assembly on Friday, Hon. Dapaa urged the public to support the police in their efforts to keep communities safe. He stressed that under no circumstance should residents shield troublemakers, regardless of any personal relationships.

Health Sector Achievements

Hon. Dapaa reported that the assembly, in collaboration with the government and stakeholders, facilitated the distribution of essential health logistics under the National Operation Programme (NOP). This included motorbikes for health workers to improve mobility and resuscitation equipment to enhance access to care, especially in hard-to-reach communities.

He noted that the municipality advanced from 18th to 5th position during the district and regional end-of-year health assessments, calling it a reflection of collective effort.

Farmer-Herder Conflicts

Following the inauguration of the Municipal Claims and Compensation Committee on December 8, 2025, the MCE said the committee has conducted stakeholder engagements and farm inspections to address farmer-herder conflicts. A foundation for compensation has been established, and the committee remains committed to promoting peaceful coexistence.

Education

The Municipal Education Directorate supervised key academic activities, including continuous assessment and mock examinations for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates. The BECE took place across seven centers in the municipality, with 2,226 pupils participating (1,049 males and 1,177 females).

Social Inclusion

With support from the Integrated Social Services (ISS) delivery programme, the assembly trained 30 stakeholders on inter-sectoral standard operating procedures and child protection to strengthen social service delivery.

Revenue Performance

The assembly projected a revised total budget of GH?52,529,136.64 for the 2025 fiscal year but realized GH?24,739,256.86 – representing 47.1% of the target.

For the first quarter of 2026, internally generated fund (IGF) totaled GH?330,322.63. The MCE called for more collaborative efforts to boost revenue for the municipality’s growth.
