The Municipality also secured the third place spot as one of the best performing districts in the Greater Accra region.
This was successfully achieved through the implementation of good educational policies and programmes aimed at preparing candidates for the exams.
Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Simon Sekyim stated that a lot of investment has gone into achieving this fate, citing the elimination of the shift system in the area as key among this investment plan.
He revealed that about 1,522 desks have been distributed to all 33 basic schools across the municipality over the last two years as part of efforts to help improve teaching and learning.
He added that other educational materials were also distributed to support education in the area.
Touching on other related developments, the Assembly has begun fencing three basic schools at Ayawaso, Amanfrom and Achiato basic schools to protect the land from encroachment and also ensure maximum security for the pupils and teachers.
According to him, the project is being funded through the Assembly’s share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
