Birim North DCE Strengthens Grassroots Development Drive with Cement Support for Communities
The Birim North District Assembly in the Eastern Region has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots development by extending support to the communities of Abodom and Bepotumtum for their ongoing self-help construction projects.

The intervention, led by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Hakeem Antwi Abdul, forms part of the Assembly's efforts to encourage community participation in local development and accelerate the provision of essential infrastructure.
Hon. Hakeem Antwi Abdul was accompanied by the District Planning Officer, the Assistant Engineer and other political heads of the district during a visit to the beneficiary communities, underscoring the Assembly's collective commitment to community-driven development.
The chiefs and residents of Abodom and Bepotumtum warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed profound appreciation to the DCE and the Assembly for their timely support.
Traditional authorities in the two communities praised Hon. Hakeem Antwi Abdul for his responsiveness to the needs of residents and his dedication to improving the welfare of communities across the district.
Addressing community members, the DCE commended the people of Abodom and Bepotumtum for their unity, commitment and determination to undertake development projects through communal efforts.
He described their self-help initiatives as a shining example of what communities can achieve when they work together towards a common goal and take ownership of their development agenda.
According to him, community-led projects remain a vital complement to government development efforts and demonstrate the power of collective action in addressing local challenges.

The support is expected to accelerate the completion of the ongoing projects and further strengthen the spirit of self-reliance and community participation in development within the district.
The newly completed six-unit classroom block is expected to provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning, reduce overcrowding and enhance educational outcomes for pupils in the community.
The CHPS compound, which was initiated by previous administrations and successfully completed under the current leadership, is set to bring healthcare services closer to residents and improve access to essential medical care.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the DCE emphasized the importance of continuity in governance and development, noting that the successful completion of the health facility demonstrates a collective commitment to improving the welfare of the people regardless of when projects are initiated.
To further strengthen healthcare delivery at the facility, the DCE donated essential medical equipment and presented a motorcycle to support the work of health personnel and improve outreach services within the community.
The intervention is expected to enhance healthcare accessibility, facilitate emergency response and support the efforts of health workers in serving surrounding communities.
Residents and community leaders expressed appreciation for the projects, describing them as timely interventions that will significantly improve education and healthcare services in Assin Ningo.
The commissioning of the two facilities forms part of broader efforts by the Assin South District Assembly to accelerate socio-economic development and improve the quality of life of residents through strategic investments in education and health infrastructure.
The Assembly has reiterated its commitment to expanding access to quality social services and ensuring that communities across the district benefit from sustainable development initiatives.
