The Municipal Chief Executive, Barima Aseidu-Larbi speaking at the commissioning of the New Fire Station for the area disclosed that the plans for the Larteh-Akuapem Area goes beyond just the Fire station but also include a police station and improved road infrastructure.
The current structure of the Police Service is a rented apartment but the MCE assured that measures have been taken to change that narrative.
According to him, the land on which the station would be built has been a challenge, but luckily enough someone has shown him one, and when assessed and deemed suitable, they would zoom straight into action to start the construction because he has already secured some sponsorship from some philanthropist to that effect.
Another area of concern is the nature of their roads, which he admitted is not in the best of shapes but assured that efforts are in place with a number of correspondence with various relevant institutions to have the roads improved.
He said the Larteh Lobby Group of which he (MCE) is a member is working assiduously in this regard so that the cry of the people would be addressed.
It is therefore no wonder the assurance from the Eastern Regional Minister to the Chief and People of the Larteh-Akuapem Area during the commissioning that their roads are high on the Agenda, and very soon they will see visible signs of work.
“With the Larteh roads, I’m part of it, we have gone to see Engineer Okoto, who is the regional Highway Director and we have come to do scouting, we’ve done inventory, we’ve put up bail of quantity and everything, submitted to the Ghana Highway Authority, approval has been given and is gone to the ministry of Roads and Highways; and so we now waiting for a contractor to come on sight; and I believe that any moment from now, there would be action on the road”, he stated.
