The MCE, accompanied by the Municipal Director of Education, Mr Henry Ayetse, and the Municipal Information Officer, Mr Frimpong Y. Michael, visited the selected schools on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, to welcome and encourage children beginning their formal education.

Addressing the pupils, Hon. Ocansey emphasised the importance of regular school attendance and urged parents and guardians to ensure that their children remained in school and attended classes consistently.

He also encouraged the pupils to maintain good environmental hygiene by avoiding littering and urged them to cultivate the habit of punctuality.

As part of the outreach, the team presented storybooks, exercise books, bowls, spoons, pencils and crayons to the pupils, alongside soft drinks and biscuits.

The initiative was aimed at making the children feel welcomed and encouraged as they began their educational journey.

The Municipal Director of Education, Mr Henry Ayetse, expressed appreciation to the MCE for his continued support for education in the Municipality and for taking time out of his busy schedule to participate in the ‘My First Day at School’ activities.
