The items included fufu machines, spraying machines, industrial sewing machines, vegetable grinding machines, hairdressing accessories and electronic car spraying machines.

The rest are a gas oven, embroidery machine, and shoe grinding machine, chest freezers, wheelchairs, walker, startup capitals and educational scholarships.

Presenting the items to the PWDs, Mrs Felicia Ntrikwah Amissah, Assin South District Chief Executive (DCE) said the disability fund was to empower PWDs to be self-dependent.

She noted that the District Assembly, in compliance with the laid down procedures, had satisfied the conditions and presented what the PWD’s individually requested throughout the year.

The DCE cautioned against selling the items, as perpetrators would be dealt with, urging them to put them to effective use to improve upon their living conditions and that of their immediate families.

Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Assembly for the support, citing the positive impact it would have on their daily lives.

Mr. Kwasi Agyekum, a beneficiary, said the wheelchair would enable him to move round easily to participate in community activities.

Mrs Ama Fosu, a trader, recounted how the chest freezer she received would help her in the sale of pure water and other petty trading.
