The partners distributed used clothing to a number of women in the communities and provided food and drinks to about 300 children with some girls receiving sanitary pads in addition.

According to Mr. Michael Clottey of the Save a Soul Foundation, Christmas is a season for sharing hence the decision of the partners to support the 2 communities.

Quoting from the book of Mathew chapter 25 verses 42 to 45, Mr. Clottey stressed the importance of each person being their neighbor’s keeper especially children and asked parents and guardians to take keen interest in the development of their wards.

He asked the children to take their studies seriously and admonished girls to avoid lifestyles that could jeopardize their future.

Mr. Clottey used the opportunity to take the people through the causes, effects and control of cholera and demonstrated the use of a simple hand washing device called ‘tippy tap’.

He urged each household in the 2 communities to endeavor to construct one of the hand washing devices to facilitate frequent hand washing.

He also asked them to boil their drinking water to help curb the onset of the disease.

While expressing the partner’s desire to further support the communities especially in the provision of potable drinking water; Mr. Clottey urged potential partners and donors to reach the foundation on its dedicated line 0539245242.

The ‘Odikro’ of Congo Nana Kwame Boateng thanked the NGO for the gesture.

Beneficiaries in either community expressed their gratitude to the partners and looked forward to further assistance in future.
