TCH to invest more in diagnostic – Group CEO
The Chief Executive Officer of the Community Hospitals Group and Deputy Minister for Health, Mr. Alexander Akwasi Acquah says he is determined to invest more in the diagnostic centre of the facility in order to meet the needs of its clientele.

According to him, people are always interested in what is wrong with them; hence there was the need to acquire modern equipment to beef up the existing ones.
“People are not interested in what is not wrong with them so what it means is that we need to improve in our diagnostics system so that we can be able to diagnose conditions and let our clients be satisfied and then if there are issues we can arrest them on time”, the CEO noted.
Mr. Akwasi Acquah, disclosed this when the Community Hospitals branch in Ashongman celebrated its 15th Anniversary in a spectacular and colourful ceremony on Monday July 1, 2024 as one of Ghana’s leading healthcare providers.
The celebration which took place at the hospital's premises Ashongman was under the theme: “holistic healthcare delivery at the doorstep of the community”, brought together some key political and quality health delivery actors to share the hospital’s progress and successes achieved so far.
Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com at the sideline, the CEO expressed his delight at how the hospital has over the years grown and made giant strides since its establishment in July 2009, adding that more efforts shall be put in place to improve health delivery in Ashongman and the country at large.
“To have an organization to survive fifteen years is no joke. I feel proud that I have been able to found such an establishment that has saved a lot of lives, created employment and saved a lot of sick people for the past fifteen years” Mr Akwasi Acquah stated.
He was optimistic the hospital will continue to expand to other parts of the country as efforts are still in place to help bring quality healthcare to the doorstep of the people.
Administrator of the Group, Madam Gloria Owusu, also revealed that the Community hospital Ashongman can now boast of a state-of-the-art emergency unit and ultra-modern equipment to promote excellent health delivery. She added that these were clear indications that the hospital was ready to serve its clients.
General Manager of the Community Hospital, Mr. Storms Wells also shared some significant strides achieved by the hospital over the past fifteen years. According to him, the facility, as of now, receives and takes care of between seven to ten thousand clients each month.
In order to further expand quality healthcare, the Dome Kwabenya Parliamentary Candidate for ruling NPP, Michael Oquaye Jr announced his intention to use the facility as a vehicle of running free health screening for people who live in and around new Ashongman.
The Community Hospital, Ashongman, first of the many health facilities under the group, has since its establishment in 2009, birthed several facilities at Oda, Kaneshie, Kukurantumi and the trinity community hospital in Ashaiman.
