Work commences on new Nkawie Market

The Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Assembly has cut sod for construction work to commence on two separate one-storey unit market shops, 24-unit market sheds and 28-unit market stores at Nkawie, a community in the municipality.

Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Mr. Michael Amoah Awuku, said the government wanted the market to be revived for their economic benefits and also ensure quality living standards for the people.

He noted that the contractor, Black Smart Consultant, is expected to complete the ultra-modern market within 12months. He thus urged the people of Nkawie to cooperate and assist the contractor to ensure speedy completion of the project.

The ground -breaking ceremony brought together some prominent individuals including; Member of Parliament for the area Mr. Emmanuel Agyei Anhwere, Oheneba Nana Kwame Akoto 1, Nkawiehene, Nananom, Heads of Department, Market women and the general public.
