Hon. Michael Danquah (born on October 14, 1979) is a Ghanaian Politician and the Municipal Chief Executive for the Weija-Gbawe Municipality. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and was appointed by the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo on February 3,2024.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Hon. Michael Danquah comes from Kade in the Eastern Region. Had his secondary school education in Prempeh College in Kumasi. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, from KNUST. He furthered his education at Ghana Technology University College/Coventry where he obtained MBA in Finance. He has also attended various trainings at the National Banking College and United Bank of Africa.

POLITICS

He was appointed as the Municipal Chief Executive for Weija-Gbawe Municipality by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo on February 3, 2024 after the revocation of the former Municipal Chief Executive.

Prior to that, he was the NPP constituency chairman for Weija-Gbawe.

CAREER

· Hon. Danquah taught Mathematics and Science at Ghana Believers Church Preparatory (February 2000- September 2001).

· He was a Mathematics (both core and elective) and physics tutor at Unique Remedial Class (June 2002- September 2002).

· Funds Transfer Officer, Corporate Business Office, United Bank for Africa (UBA) (Gh) Ltd. (November 2006-July 2008).

· Acting Branch Operations Manager, East Legon 1 Branch (June 2008).

· Officer, Direct Payments and International Trade UBA (Ghana) Limited

(July 2008- February 2013)

· Head of Foreign Operations UBA Ghana Limited (April 2013 -March 2018).

· Head of Trade, GN Bank (April 2018-August 2019).

· Advisory Board Chairman, Pantang Midwifery Nursing Training College (September 2018 to date).

· Managing Director, Aid Point Pharmacy (May 2020 – date).
