Mr. Acheampong gave the advice during a monitoring tour of several exam centers in the area. He was accompanied by officials from the Education Directorate and staff of the district assembly.
1,551 Students Sitting for the Exam
A total of 1,551 students from 47 schools—including five private schools—are taking part in this year’s BECE in the district. The candidates comprise 759 males and 792 females. They are being supervised by 16 supervisors and 53 invigilators.
“Feel Relaxed and Aim for Distinction”
Addressing the students, the DCE reminded them that the BECE is an opportunity to demonstrate everything they have learned throughout their basic education.
“Feel relaxed, answer the questions, and pass with distinction,” he said.
Mr. Acheampong expressed confidence that candidates in the district would perform better this year than in previous years. He also advised them to strictly follow the rules and regulations governing the exams, including both written and oral instructions, to avoid having their papers cancelled.
Education Director Warns Against Malpractices
The Offinso North District Director of Education, Mr. Martin Addo Fordjour, also urged candidates to stay away from any form of examination malpractice.
“The Director-General has asked us to ensure an incident-free examination in terms of malpractices. That is what we are working to achieve,” he stated.
Mr. Addo Fordjour called on the students to remain focused and complete the exams successfully, so as to place Offinso North among the best-performing districts in the region.
