Saboba curfew renewed as government urges calm and peaceful resolution

The government has renewed the curfew imposed on Saboba Township and its surrounding communities in the Northern Region as part of measures to maintain peace and security in the area.

The curfew, renewed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, through an Executive Instrument, runs from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

The government has urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth and residents of Saboba to exercise restraint and use peaceful and non-violent means to address challenges confronting the area.

Authorities have also maintained a total ban on the carrying of arms, ammunition and offensive weapons within Saboba and its surrounding communities.

The government warned that anyone found in possession of arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The measures are aimed at preserving peace and protecting lives and property as efforts continue to promote stability in Saboba.
