The treatment system spans from parts of Kumasi Technical University to Labour Roundabout, Asafo Market to Pentecost Church, Asafo Township all through to Abinkyi the treatment site.

The sewage plant which was constructed in 1994 has some of its chambers choked thereby preventing the fecal matter from reaching its final destination (Abinkyi).

The Resettlement Action Plan - RAP (compensation) was prepared in accordance with the World Bank’s Involuntary Resettlement Policy (OP 4.12) and applicable Ghanaian Laws and regulations.

The corresponding amount ranges from 900.00 cedis to 450,000.00 cedis as assessed.

The affected people were urged to vacate and make way for the reconstruction in three weeks by the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Samuel Pyne.
