La Dade Kotopon takes delivery of compact truck for waste management

The La Dade Kotopon Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region is looking forward to making even a greater impact on the environment by way of waste management with the compact truck it had taken delivery of.

Already major interventions including the observation of the the ‘Operation Clean Your Frontage’ campaign, and subsequent enforcement exercises carried out, thus clearing of cars, kiosk and containers parked on the roads, and road reservations as well as pavement have brought significant improvement in environmental health in the municipality and authorities are determined to make the best of the waste truck to maintain and even get better results.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Solomon Kotey Nikoi addressing the first Ordinary Meeting of the Assembly for 2023 said the distribution of waste bins to homes and business centers will go a long way to drastically reduce indiscriminate dumping of wastes at unauthorised places and the compact truck will enhance waste collection as well.

He asserts that waste management being one of the core functions of the Assembly which requires innovative and pragmatic approach, the Assembly will continue to explore opportunities to to introduce scientific interventions to the municipality on of the best in waste management.
