It is for this reason that the Municipal Assembly, has periodically distributed to farmers in the Municipality cash crops such as oil palm and coconut seedlings for planting.
The Municipal Assembly through the support of the Minerals Commission on Thursday, 27th October, 2022 distributed some 40,000 oil palm seedlings to farmers in the Municipality.
This is an addition to the 50,000 seedlings distributed to farmers during the major farming season taking the total of oil palm seedlings distributed this year to 90,000.
Speaking on behalf of the Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Mr. Evans Addison Coleman, expressed his appreciation to the Minerals Commission for the support.
He concluded by urging beneficiaries to use the opportunity to encourage these seedlings to ensure that the seedlings survive to increase the production of oil palm in the Municipality.
