Kintampo Municipality BECE candidates lauded by Minister
This Year’s Nationwide Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) examination started on Monday 7th August 2023 Kintampo Municipality in the Bono East Region was no exception in the country.

In the Kintampo Municipality, total students are; 1973, Boys; 945, Girl; 1028, with 8 Centers which consist of Kintampo Senior High School 3 separate Centers, Dr. Sunder School Center 4, Babator Center 5, Dega Senior High School Center 6, Gulumpe Center 7 and Cadelso Center 8.
The Bono East Regional Minister Kwasi Adu-Gyan, with his entourage in the persons of Bono East Regional Education Director Madam Ayarifa A.D Amoa, the Municipal Chief Executive Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw, and the Municipal Education Director Mr. Sylvester Poku with some dignitaries took time off their busy schedule to visit some exam centers in the Kintampo Municipality to encourage and wish them well in their BECE exams.
The Regional minister was happy to see students well pursued to write the BECE Examination. In his address to the students, the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, having education at heart by introducing, Free Senior High School, School Feeding Programme, students now going to the University with sponsorship from the government, student loans etc.
He asked the students to be bold in selecting some of the STEM schools which are also part of their schools selection list and that he will personally assist them to gain admission to those schools. “they working hard will make them become the Engineers, Doctors, Teachers, Lawyers and other professions they would like to become in feature” he added.
He again stated that “those days education was mending for the Rich and elite is gone. Today palm wine tappers sons and daughters can have access to good education if only they want to because the President is living no stone unturned in education and this is the right time to educate in Ghana and No kid would be left behind “ he ended.
Madam Ayarifa A.D Amoa the Bono East Educational Director, advised students to study hard most especially the girls not to be pregnant but be serious in their education. She added that the total number of student seats for the exams in Bono East Region is 19322. 9596 were boys and 9726 were girls.
She explains the increased number of girls would be the introduction of the “Back to School Campaign done in 2020 to encourage girls pregnant to be in school and after giving birth they can go back to school”. She said,
