TAIN: Birim Goldfields, Assembly support District Hospital

Birim Goldfields Limited, a gold mining company in the Tain Districts of the Brong Ahafo region has donated 10 hospital beds to the Tain Government Hospital at Nsawkaw, the District Capital.

The Assembly at the same time presented twenty mattresses to the Hospital to replace the old mattresses which are infected with bed bugs.

The Hospital, in its bid to improve the bed bugs infestation situation, has also funded the painting of the facility with Ines-fly paints with its Internally Generated Fund (IGF).

District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Lawyer Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommor, who was speaking at a short ceremony to present the items to the hospital, emphasized the assembly’s keenness to ensure that quality healthcare is made accessible to the doorsteps of the people.

According to her, the wealth of the nation depends on the health of its people hence government was committed to improving the health of the ordinary Ghanaian citizenry.

She urged the health worker in the area to give topmost best to help save more lives and pledged government’s continuous support by providing them with modern equipment and logistics to facilitate their work.

The DCE later expressed appreciation to the Management of Birim Goldfields Company for their kind gesture and pledged the Assembly's for their activities in the district.

In other related development, Lawyer Foriwaa Dwommor, together with some officials of the assembly has paid a working visit to the ongoing sixty-bed capacity Tain District Hospital at Nsawkaw.

The facility, worth USD 35,000.000 when completed, will be the second major referral health facility in the Brong Ahafo region.

Disclosing this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the DCE noted that the facility will be fitted with state of the art medical equipment including a digital library, digital patient record keeping facility, an operating theatre, pharmacy among other medical facilities.

The project which started in 2011 is expected to complete in 2018.
