The distribution forms of the Planting for Export and Rural Development initiative, which is geared towards promoting rural economic growth.

The programme is also aimed at improving the household incomes of rural farmers through the provision of certified improved seedlings, extension services, business support and regulatory mechanisms.

Mr. Noah Sabutey, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, who received the seedlings on behalf of the District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Fred Offei, underscored the importance of agriculture in nation building.

He commended the Government under the leadership of his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for giving much attention to the sector through the implementation of a number of programmes.

He urged the beneficiary farmers to be appreciative of the good work the Government is doing and admonished the beneficiaries to make sure that the invested fortune into the seedlings did not end up wasted.
