Bechem Gov’t hospital receives equipment worth 50,000.00US dollars

The Bechem Government Hospital in the Ahafo Region has received phototherapy machine worth 50, 000.00 US Dollars from the Bechem Local Council of Churches.

Presenting the Machine to management of the hospital, Rev. Frimpong Boadu, the chairman of the Council said, the Bechem Local Council of Churches got to know that the Bechem Government Hospital was facing logistical constraint. This logistical constraint has made residents in Bechem and its environs unable to get effective health care delivery services from the hospital.

It was against this background that the Bechem Local Council of Churches mobilized funds through fundraising ceremonies to procure the said machine. He indicated that government’s efforts to retool the public sector organizations especially Bechem Government Hospital would not come to fusion a day and called on all well-to-do Ghanaians to come to the aid of Bechem Government Hospital.
He emphasized that, when the hospital is resourced it would help the staff to deliver quality services to the general public and also increase the hospital Out Patient Department’s attendance.

On behalf of management of the hospital, Dr. Emmanuel Adjei Darko, the Medical Superintendent who received the machine thanked the churches as well as the chairman for Bechem Local Council of churches for their kind gesture.


He said the availability of the machine would enhance the daily operational activities of the hospital and assured the public that, it would be used for its intended purposes and also put into good use.

Kyeame Opoku Agyeman who represented the Omanhene of Behem Traditional Coucil, Nana Fosu Gyeabour Akoto II at the programme thanked organisers for the programme and charged management of the Bechem Government Hospital to maintain the machine as and when necessary to ensure the long lifespan of the machine.
