Gomoa Afransi gets court facility
The chief justice, justice Anin Yeboah in his address at the inaugural ceremony said, In accordance with section 10 (3) (g) of the Local governance Act, 1993 (Act462), Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies are responsible for the assurance of ready access to courts in the district for the promotion of justice.

This clearly calls for the provision of a courthouse to satisfy the justice needs of the district, as well as suitable residential accommodation for the magistrate.
Gomoa central Assembly therefore deserves commendation for providing land for this courthouse, made of a courtroom, chamber, and offices for the recorder, registrar, cashier and Bailiff, and washrooms for staffs and court users, not forgetting the decent residential accommodation provided for the magistrate who will be in charge of this court.
The judicial service of Ghana will continue to remind the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies of their responsibility to ensure that all who seek justice and or administer justice at the district level are not denied their constitutional rights of having a befitting environment to cater for their justice needs.
He also commended the Gomoa central Assembly, the traditional authorities, as well as all those who worked behind the scenes to make this event a reality.
The District chief executive, Benjamin Otoo in his speech said, for the first time in the history of Gomoa central district, they are privileged to have this beautiful edifice which will assist in serving justice to the people.
The greatest asset that they can have as a district is the court. It is therefore in this light that the Government of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has established a district court for judicial service.
The district is therefore grateful for the timely provision of the court as it will function to maintain rules of law, provide equal protection, enhance social order and ensure due process of law.
The omanhene representative said that today represents a watershed in the history of Gomoa central district.
He said strengthening access to justice in our courts and making them user friendly is very important.
The incoming district magistrate has a herculean task ahead of him or her and the traditional council can give chief justice a cast iron assurance within its power in the execution of his or her duties.
