KINTAMPO: NPP elects Michael Baffoe as parliamentary candidate
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Kintampo North Municipality of the Bono East Region, have elected Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe, the Municipal Chief Executive for the area as its parliamentary candidate for the 2020 general elections.

The MCE beat competitions from two other contestants Dr. Anane Gyinde, a law lecturer, and Mr. Charles Nkangmah, former parliamentary candidate for the 2016 elections.
Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe polled three hundred and seventy one (371) votes, with his closest contender, Mr. Charles Nkangmag, an educationist also polling three hundred and twelve (312) votes while Dr. Kwaku Anane Gyinde accrued sixty seven (67) votes.
The results were declared by the Municipal Electoral Commission, Mr. Kassim I. Kaaka.
Delegates were drawn from all polling station executives of the party in the constituency.
The National discourse of vote buying and gifts were not exclusively visible as was the case in other jurisdictions.
The elections were conducted under the leadership of the party’s Regional chairman Mr. Thomas Owusu Adu (chairman Torma), constituency Chairman Mr. Abubakari Siddique and the party’s election committee. All party big wits in the constituency including past and present were on hand to vote.
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) organized elections in about 100 orphan constituencies to elect Parliamentary candidates to represent the party in the 2020 general elections.
