The gesture follows a pledge made by the MCE during the official launch of the band to support it with funds to procure additional musical instruments.

Speaking at a short ceremony in Sunyani, Mr Agyei reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the band and urged its members to build a vibrant and professional musical group that the municipality could be proud of.

The Deputy Director of Prisons (DDP) and Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regional Commander of the Ghana Prisons Service, Mr Thompson Otsyokpo, expressed appreciation to the MCE for the gesture.

He assured the MCE that the money would be utilised for its intended purpose and appealed for further assistance towards the asphalting of the inner road leading to the Sunyani Central and Female Prisons.

DDP Otsyokpo noted that improved access roads would facilitate the movement of personnel and visitors to and from the prison facilities.

He expressed the hope that the relationship between the Ghana Prisons Service and the Municipal Assembly would continue to strengthen for the mutual benefit of both institutions and the people they serve.
