Lawra Municipal hosts JSC 72 Officers

The Municipal Coordinating Director in Lawra Municipal Assembly, Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Majeed, hosted Junior Staff Course (JSC) 72 military officers which comprises of Armed Forces, Navy, Airforce, and their counterpart from CEPS on the behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Martin Domotiere Bomba-Ire, to sensitize them on government policies and programmes geared towards improving the lives of the people in Lawra Municipality.

Their visit was also to afford them the opportunity to interact with the people of Lawra and its environs as part of the course to expose the new officers to civilians and to defuse the perception most civilians have for the military.

They were taken through four thematic areas of government policies and programmes which included Free SHS, Felling of Rosewood, Planting for Food and Job (PFJ) and Security.


The military was thrilled with issues bothering on the above four mentioned areas by the facilitators from Ghana Education Service, MOFA -Lawra office, the Police Commander and the assembly committee chairman for Rosewood felling.


Their questions and concerns were also addressed and key among their concerns was the influx of the "Yellow-yellow" tricycles popularly known as "Mahama can do" and school dropout.


The military team presented some items to the MCE and Coordinating Director and the facilitators.
