Kassena-Nankana Assembly Takes Over Modern CHPS Compound to Improve Healthcare Delivery at Pinda

The Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly has officially taken over a newly completed Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Pinda for onward handover to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the beneficiary community, marking another milestone in efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery within the municipality.

The newly completed health facility comprises staff accommodation, an Out-Patient Department (OPD), a dispensary, and fully furnished rooms designed to provide quality healthcare services and improve access to essential medical care for residents of Pinda and neighbouring communities.

The handing-over ceremony was attended by traditional authorities, the Assembly Member, opinion leaders, officials of the Ghana Health Service, staff of the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly, and members of the beneficiary community, who expressed delight at the successful completion of the long-awaited project.

Addressing the gathering, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Faustina A. Abulu, reaffirmed the Assembly's unwavering commitment to improving healthcare delivery through sustained investment in modern health infrastructure.

She stated that the completion of the CHPS compound represents another important step toward bringing quality and accessible primary healthcare services closer to the people while reducing the burden of travelling long distances to seek medical attention.

Hon. Abulu emphasized that the Assembly remains committed to supporting the Ghana Health Service in delivering quality healthcare and improving the health and well-being of residents across the municipality.

She appealed to the Ghana Health Service, traditional authorities, community leaders, and residents to protect and maintain the facility to ensure its sustainability and continued service to future generations.

The Municipal Chief Executive stressed that preserving public infrastructure is a shared responsibility and urged the community to take ownership of the facility to maximize its long-term benefits.

On behalf of the people of Pinda, the chiefs and residents expressed profound appreciation to the Municipal Chief Executive and the Assembly for delivering the much-needed healthcare facility.

They described the project as a transformational intervention that would significantly improve access to healthcare services, strengthen disease prevention and treatment, and enhance the overall well-being of residents.

The completion of the CHPS compound forms part of the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly's broader commitment to expanding healthcare infrastructure and ensuring equitable access to quality primary healthcare services throughout the municipality.
