According to him, the facilities to be provided at the new district hospital include; Gynaecology Units, Out-Patient-Department (OPD), Maternity, Obstetrics and, Accident and Emergency Units, Male, Female, Paediatric and Isolation Units.
The ultra-modern 100-bed capacity hospital, he added, also comes with some special features such as heat insulation materials to help reduce heat transmission in the facility.
Work was progressing steadily on the facility when Ghanadistrict.com and TV visited the site to have firsthand information about the project.
Speaking in an interview, Mr coffie noted that, the contractors are hopeful of meeting the new June 2024 deadline date, adding that original deadline for completion had to be extended by the consultants due to bad weather conditions that affected the flow of work.
Also touching on the project, the District Chief Executive for Agona East, Janet O. Paintsil, expressed her gratitude to the government for the facility, adding that the project will help ease pressure on existing facilities in and around the community.
She said the various components of the facility make it possible to receive and treat referral cases in the district.
She added: “These are facilities meant to deepen healthcare delivery in all district levels and ensure that the Ghanaian can access quality healthcare.”
