The initiative, spearheaded by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, was undertaken through the Assembly's Disability Fund as part of efforts to support Persons with Disabilities to establish or expand their businesses and attain financial independence.
The beneficiaries received a wide range of equipment tailored to their individual trades and livelihood needs. The items included chest freezers, laptops, printers, fufu pounding machines, knitting machines, industrial sewing machines, foot-operated sewing machines, vegetable processing machines, as well as other equipment and cash support.
Addressing the beneficiaries, officials encouraged them to make productive use of the items to strengthen their businesses, improve their standard of living and provide sustainable support for their families.
The Assembly noted that the intervention forms part of its broader commitment to promoting inclusive development by providing vulnerable groups with the resources needed to participate meaningfully in the local economy.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, appreciation was expressed to the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the Member of Parliament for the Mfantseman Constituency, Hon. Ebenezer Prince Arhin, and the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly for their continued support and dedication to improving the welfare of Persons with Disabilities.
The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to implementing inclusive social intervention programmes and sustainable livelihood initiatives that empower Persons with Disabilities and enhance their socio-economic well-being across the municipality.
