Adentan Assembly Confirms Ya-Adjagey for Second Term as Presiding Member
The Adentan Municipal Assembly has overwhelmingly endorsed Hon. Mahamud Ya-Adjagey for a second term as Presiding Member following elections held on Thursday at the Assembly Conference Hall.

Hon. Ya-Adjagey secured a decisive victory, polling 18 votes—representing 94.7 percent of ballots cast—well above the two-thirds majority required by law. The electoral college consisted of twelve elected Assembly Members, six government appointees, the Municipal Chief Executive, and the Member of Parliament for Adentan, who did not vote.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Ya-Adjagey expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to leverage his experience to deliver effective leadership. He assured members of his commitment to strengthening the Assembly’s work, noting that lessons from his previous term would guide a more focused and results-driven administration.
The event attracted key stakeholders, including the Member of Parliament for Adentan, Hon. Mohamed Ramadan, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ella Christine Esinam Nongo, alongside other party officials, highlighting the importance of the occasion.
The Municipal Electoral Officer, Mr. Robertson, supervised the voting process, after which Her Worship Rhoda Donkor administered the oath of office and secrecy to the re-elected Presiding Member.
Assembly Members congratulated Hon. Ya-Adjagey on his re-election and urged him to embrace a renewed approach to leadership, emphasizing diligence and collective development.
With a strong mandate, Hon. Ya-Adjagey begins his second term amid high expectations for continued progress in the Adentan Municipality.
