Shama District takes delivery of DRIP equipment

Mr. Ebenezer Dadzie, the Shama District Chief Executive (DCE), speaking at a ceremony to commission the machines, described the occasion as momentous, and said the equipment would help repair poor roads that been issues of concern to the people.
He stated the DRIP initiative would create jobs for the teeming youth and help boost the local economy for improved living standards of the people.
“This project is historic, and I am confident that it will facilitate easy commuting within our communities, boost the local economy, and position our District for investment,” he noted.
Mr. Dadzie said the Assembly had developed a work plan to coordinate the effective execution of the project, “so that we can prioritise all the critical roads that are essential in facilitating trade in our district.”
He pledged his commitment to ensure that the equipment are properly maintained to help prolong their lifespan.
Mr. Samuel Erickson Abakah, the Member of Parliament for Shama, said good roads were recipe for socio-economic development, hence the DRIP initiative would swiftly respond to the concerns of residents in terms of roads for accelerated growth.
Mr. Isaac Kwamina Afful, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Shama, said, the initiative was a testament of the government’s commitment to implementing sustainable policies to improve upon the well-being of the citizenry.
He asked the constituents to renew the NPP’s mandate in the December 7 polls to help the government continue its good works for all.
Nana Akosua Gyamfiaba II, Acting Queen Mother of Shama Traditional Area, implored the Assembly to put the equipment to good use, while ensuring proper storage, maintenance, and security of the machines.
