During the visit, Hon. Asiedu presented a motorcycle to the station to support its operations and enhance mobility, particularly in rural communities. He also appealed to the government to expedite procurement processes to enable the Ghana National Fire Service to effectively fulfil its mandate of saving lives and protecting property.
He further pledged to support other public institutions in the municipality and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing development in Tano South.
The Fire Commander, DOIII Clifford Ashie Teiku, expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for the donation. He used the opportunity to highlight some challenges facing the station, noting that inadequate facilities and obsolete equipment continue to hinder effective emergency response.
He stressed the need for additional water hydrants across the municipality to improve firefighting efforts, as well as modern fire tenders and rescue equipment to replace outdated machinery.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, who accompanied the MP on the visit, commended the strong relationship between the Assembly and the Fire Service.
He assured continued support in areas such as fuel supply and vehicle maintenance, further strengthening collaboration to enhance the Fire Service’s capacity to respond to emergencies and protect lives and property in the municipality.
