According to the union, the increase is as a result of the recent hikes in fuel prices and vehicle spare parts in the country.

Diesel now sells at GHs 15.99 while petrol sells at 13.10 at various pump stations. The astronomical prices, according to the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC), is as a result of increase in world crude prices.

Meanwhile, some commercial drivers, who spoke in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, said the government was being insensitive to their working conditions by increasing fuel prices amidst the current economic crisis.

They called on the government to reintroduce the fuel subsidy and stabilize the local currency to help control the rising fuel prices in the country.
