POPULATION STRUCTURE
The 2021 Population and Housing Census conducted by the Ghana Statistical Service posted the population of Oforikrom at 213,126.
This is made up of 107,426 (50.4%) male and 105,700 (49.6%) female with a growth rate of 1.2%. The projected figure for 2024 is 220,938 with 111,364 (males) and 109,574 (female).
There are various ethnic groups in the Municipality, and this can be attributed to its strategic location and the University (KNUST), which provides teaching and learning to both Ghanaians and Foreigners.
