The projects include a CHPS Compound with nurses’ accommodation at Kpala, an Accident and Emergency Centre at the Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital, and another CHPS Compound at Dwarf Island-Battor Kope.
The facilities were commissioned by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu Afram Plains North, Hon. Kate Mawusi Babanawo, together with the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey.
The new CHPS compounds are expected to improve access to primary healthcare in the beneficiary communities, particularly by reducing the distance residents have to travel to seek basic medical attention.
The nurses’ accommodation at Kpala is also expected to support the availability and retention of health personnel in the community, thereby improving the delivery of essential healthcare services.

At the Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital, the new Accident and Emergency Centre is expected to strengthen the hospital’s capacity to provide timely emergency care and respond effectively to critical cases.
The interventions are particularly significant for the district, where some communities are geographically isolated and residents can face challenges accessing healthcare facilities.
Hon. Kate Mawusi Babanawo said the projects formed part of the Assembly’s commitment to addressing critical development needs and improving the wellbeing of residents.
She expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama, the Eastern Regional Minister, traditional leaders, development partners, contractors and other stakeholders whose contributions helped make the projects possible.
The commissioning marks another important step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that residents of Kwahu Afram Plains North have improved access to essential health services.
