Akuapim South Reaffirms Commitment to Prudent Financial Management

The Akuapim South Municipal Assembly recently hosted members of the National Technical Working Group on MMDAs Composite Budget from the Ministry of Finance as part of a nationwide exercise to monitor the implementation of the 2025 Composite Budget and assess the first-quarter implementation of the 2026 Composite Budget.

The monitoring exercise formed part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Finance to evaluate the performance of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the execution of approved budgets, while promoting accountability and transparency in public financial management.

During the engagement, officials reviewed the Assembly's budget performance, assessed progress made on planned programmes and projects, and examined the implementation status of key interventions outlined in the Composite Budget. The exercise also provided an opportunity to identify challenges affecting implementation and discuss practical measures to enhance budget execution and service delivery.

The visiting team engaged management and technical officers of the Assembly in discussions aimed at strengthening financial planning, monitoring, and reporting systems to ensure that public resources are utilized efficiently and effectively for the benefit of residents.

The exercise further highlighted the importance of prudent financial management and reinforced the Assembly's commitment to achieving its development objectives through the effective implementation of government policies and programmes.

The Akuapim South Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its dedication to accountability, transparency, and the efficient use of public funds to drive socio-economic development and improve the quality of life of residents within the municipality.
