Ayawaso North MCE, MP Support Schools with 4,000 Desks

The Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Yussif Jajah Issaka, has distributed 4,000 mono desks to schools across the municipality to improve teaching and learning.

The initiative was led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Haruna Mohammed Awal, and the Member of Parliament, Hon. Yussif Jajah Issaka, as part of efforts to address furniture shortages and create a conducive learning environment for pupils.

Some of the beneficiary schools include Islamic School, Unity JSS, Salas International School, SDA Primary School, Queens Royal School and Ayawaso Model School, among others.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Member of Parliament, Hon. Yussif Jajah Issaka, explained that the intervention was not limited to public schools, adding that private schools and other educational institutions in the municipality would also benefit.

He disclosed that 2,000 of the desks were financed from his share of the Common Fund, while the remaining 2,000 were provided through the District Assembly Common Fund.

Hon. Jajah Issaka further indicated that the MP and the Municipal Assembly had made provision for vehicles to transport the furniture to the various beneficiary schools, ensuring that the desks reached their intended destinations.

Speaking to GhanaDistricts TV, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Haruna Mohammed Awal, urged teachers and pupils to take proper care of the furniture to ensure its durability and enable future generations of learners to benefit from it.

He expressed optimism that the proper maintenance of the desks would encourage further interventions to improve educational facilities across the municipality.

The distribution forms part of efforts by the Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly and the Member of Parliament to strengthen educational infrastructure and support effective teaching and learning in both public and private schools.
