The DCE appealed to the youth to uphold discipline, embrace education and skills development, and channel their energies into productive activities that contribute to the development of the district.

He also encouraged Muslim youth to promote peace and tolerance, particularly in view of the security challenges affecting parts of the Upper East Region.

The call comes amid broader peacebuilding efforts in communities around Bawku, with authorities and peace organisations engaging residents and young people on the dangers of violent extremism, hate speech and other activities that could threaten community stability.

Mr Ayamweogo stressed the importance of responsible citizenship and urged the youth to make choices that would create opportunities for themselves and contribute positively to society.

He further called on Muslim leaders, parents and community elders to continue guiding young people and supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence and development.
